The Interesting Ideas Of Representative Ron Paul

Seeing as they are one of the biggest states in the country, as anybody from there will gladly tell you, it is understandable of course that Texas is famous for a number of things here in America. One of the things they are known for is their excellent Texas Insulation and Texas sandblasting. Also, the state is known for barbecue, football, and a few other things. But, one thing that Texas should be known for that it really isn’t is their famous politicians. A few presidents including Lyndon B. Johnson, are from Texas and there are even more important politicians that hail from or work in the state. For example, current member of the House of Representatives Dr. Ron Paul works for part of the state very effectively, with his approval rating being very high amongst all voters and in the following paragraphs some of Paul’s ideas will be briefly discussed.

One fascinating idea that Paul has which is now currently, in the process of becoming a reality through the floor of the House and Senate, is to audit the Federal Reserve Bank. According to Paul’s logic, the bank has too much control over the economy and as a result the dollar has lost approximately 96% of its value since the bank was created in 1916. By auditing the Fed the banks policies and ideas would have to become known and transparent for everyone to see, meaning that more Americans would have a better idea of whether or not they agree with the decisions being made about their monetary system.

Another interesting idea from Paul is in reference to the national income tax. Paul believes that the national income tax is an unnecessary burden to the people of America and isn’t constitutionally allowed. For those who say that the national income tax provides so much money to the government that it isn’t possible to do away with it, Paul counters by claiming that just ten years ago government spending was a mere two thirds of what it is today and that the national income tax only provides the government with one third of it’s revenue. By that logic, Paul exclaims, with government spending knocked back to where it was just ten years ago the income tax could be cut out without any real problems for anybody.

Paul’s main ideas simply involve going back to the way the country was originally planned to be, with a small central government. Paul has stated that as President, an office for which he ran in 2008 to minor success, he would basically return America to an isolationist foreign policy and pull American forces out of both Iraq and Afghanistan, while still maintaining the ultimate goal of the war on terror by finding and stamping out terrorist strongholds. Also, Paul would like more security on American borders to greatly cut down on illegal immigration.

Ron Paul, while having not gained the mainstream appeal necessary to successfully run for President in 2008, has many fascinating ideas and is somebody that it seems the current group in the Senate and House would be well served to listen to every now and then.
